Next Protest Scheduled for 8/11 - Join US!

We need your help to speak out against this bailout! Please come to the SFWMD meeting tomorrow. It is open to the public and you will have an opportunity to speak. The new version of the bailout is worse than before! They couldn’t borrow the money so now they plan on using reserve funds that should be used for emergencies such as hurricanes. The emergency fund is being used for the “big emergency” of bailing out a private corporation.

Plus a federal judge could be coming back as soon as the end of this month to compel the district to continue with a reservoir building project they halted to start funneling money towards the U.S. Sugar Corporation. They cannot purchase land from the U.S. Sugar Corporation AND build the reservoir without raising taxes – this is admitted. If we don’t stop this deal and stop it dead in its tracks – our property taxes will be raised. It’s time to raise cane. We will be coming with hundreds of voicemails from Floridians all across the state who are against this bailout and make sure their voice is heard. We will be broadcasting the voicemails outside at 11:30 tomorrow as well as giving a copy of the voicemails to each board member so they know how we feel about this bad deal. Please join us at 11:30 tomorrow and stand with us.
